From its office based in the Netherlands, team of SmartHOTEL serves over 1500 hotels worldwide by providing channel management and tailored online distribution solutions. A lot has changed over the last years, but its goal remains the same: simply connect hotels to the world. It all started 20 years ago when Frank and Pitrik entered the Hospitality market, selling POS (point of sales) for restaurants. With the rise of online booking channels, SmartHOTEL’s customer restaurants started selling their free spaces as guestrooms. That is when the first SmartPMS was created. Online Travel Agencies became a big hit, and SmartHOTEL customers began wondering if they could automate reservation delivery directly into their PMS, and the Smart Channel Manager was born.
